Acclaimed for its international leadership in agriculture and renowned for its first-in-the-nation status in national politics, Iowa has been center-stage for agricultural professionals, business leaders, and political aspirants for decades. Established in 2008 by Peoples Company, the Land Investment Expo has become a main event for office holders, office seekers, and prominent agricultural industry voices to provide keen insight and debate the events of today and the future of tomorrow.
In 2026, the 19th annual Land Investment Expo returns bigger than ever. Known for drawing a sell-out crowd each year, the event will feature an exciting addition on Monday, January 12 — the first-ever "Farmland Masterclass," offering attendees an enhanced opportunity for education and engagement. Don’t miss the opportunity to join agricultural professionals from across the country in Downtown Des Moines on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, to participate in the nation’s premier land conference – the 2026 Land Investment Expo.
NEW FOR 2026
Our inaugural Farmland Masterclass will be held on Monday, January 12, at the Hilton Des Moines Downtown.
Why Farmland Works: A Simple Guide to a Strong Asset Class
The financial performance characteristics of U.S. farmland ownership are attractive for any investment portfolio. The challenge is that U.S. farmland is a highly diverse asset class that requires significant expertise to acquire, manage, and dispose. This farmland masterclass is assembled to help investors broaden their technical and financial knowledge of the asset class whether they are new to farmland or experienced farmland investors.
Peoples Company is proud to engage Dr. Bruce Sherrick and Dr. Craig Lemoine from the University of Illinois to support the farmland masterclass. The course will break down how agricultural production is distributed regionally across the U.S. and how different production systems create financial returns for the associated farmland assets. The course will also review the challenges, opportunities, and proven strategies for building farmland portfolios, developing and executing acquisition pipelines, and managing farmland assets to maximize financial returns.
The additional educational session on Monday may be selected during registration checkout.
